I know all about the S+L debacle history. Have three books on it by experts who lived through it right here. What do you dispute, the fact that after being heavily lobbied by campaign contributors Reagan signed the Garnes-St Germaine deregulation bill in 1981 which made it all possible and proclaimed as he signed "This is a great day for America!" ?? That's an absolute historical fact. Two hundred billion dollars later it's nothing to be proud of. And now with Big Energy they've been trying to repeat themselves. Another two hundred billion rip-off stopped in its tracks by Senator Jeffords, John Kerry, Leiberman and the GAO? Like to know more, write Cheney to release his energy papers.
