AT LONG LAST THE PHONY MIDEAST POLARITY SHOWS ITS TRUE COLORS....

Indeed, as I said repeatedly, there're more Judeofascist affinities between Europe and Israel (and Russia) than between Israel and the US, hence PM Sharon's last trickery: an international conference on the ME crisis... What the hell is wrong with that old dog Sharon?!? I thought the Judeofascists were only too happy to leave the whole go-between business to their American "best friend" and snub these "anti-Semitic" European marplots?? So far, it was the best-case scenario for Israel: the US Secretary of State Powell fully dedicating himself to solving the crisis, with no deadline and with carte blanche from the White House... and guess what:

Sharon proposes peace conference

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has suggested the United States lead a regional conference to find peace for the Middle East.

Mr Sharon said US Secretary of State Colin Powell - who is continuing diplomatic efforts in Lebanon and Syria - had supported the idea during their talks on Sunday.

Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat said he would accept the Israeli proposal if it had President George W Bush's backing and Israel pulled out of Palestinian territories.

"Any initiative which would be declared by President Bush I will accept it to achieve peace... I am ready for an immediate conference, but at the same time immediate withdrawal," he told an American broadcaster.

But Mr Sharon has proposed such a conference before, and insisted that Mr Arafat should not attend. Correspondents say there is nothing to indicate he has changed his position.

More discussion

Mr Sharon said the US could host talks between Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco and Palestinian representatives as well as any other interested parties.

"This idea is acceptable to the United States and I estimate that within a short period of time the conference will indeed convene," said Mr Sharon, who has previously opposed international conferences, fearing Israel would be isolated.

Mr Powell's spokesman Richard Boucher confirmed the idea had been raised.

Ironically enough, the Mideast's historical polarity has been turned upside down: as the above article reveals, PLO Chairman Arafat is now the one calling for the US endorsing the Israeli initiative!! While it's obvious that the whole idea (of an intl. conference) is being brought up by a frustrated Israeli leadership who can no longer rely on a Zionist US administration. Yet, Sharon has cunningly suggested that the Mideast conference is not to convene Arafat nor European countries, however, his nudge wasn't lost on his European crypto-supporters: no later than this morning, in a radio newscast, Belgian Foreign Minister L. Michel has welcome the idea.... Besides, even in Israel, some politicos have already blurted it:

Excerpt:

Foreign Minister Shimon Peres said last night at a meeting of Labor activists in Tel Aviv that an international conference would provide a "clear political horizon" and also a plan for economic development in the territories.

At ths same time, opposition leader Yossi Sarid (Meretz) termed the idea a "worthless public relations gimmick," and added that greater European involvement should not be ruled out, pointing out that Great Britain and Germany were friends of Israel.

Indeed, and since France is currently in the midst of a presidential election, her political leaders are tied hand and foot and won't jeopardize their presidential bid with the Mideast jack-in-the-box....
