Subject: RE: [ErlangerQuote] Re: qcharts data feed bad again

At the current time, we do not have plans to add an esignal Feed version -- though there is some remnant code in Ravenquote that supports esignal. ErlangerQuote (EQ) uses a lot of technology in QFeed that is not available in esignal and therefore would have to be reproduced.

Many users who take the time to compare esignal to QFeed realize it's not an apples to apples comparison. For example, you can't get access to unlimited symbols in esignal -- the most is 500 symbols at one time -- and you would have to spend more than $250/month for that! In esignal you can't get delayed data for markets you do not subscribe to. Furthermore, there are severe limits to historical intraday data in esignal which would limit some of our planned features for EQ. One significant drawback to esignal: they don't apply exchange corrections, nor do they have a sophisticated intraday price filter (there are several thousand of these adjustments each day). Those yellow spikes that you see in the charts in EQ would show up as real price spikes. And there are no stock splits adjustments for intraday data. Also, the real-time hot-lists come from QFeed and there is no equivalent in esignal.

The list goes on..

Regarding the delays you may be experiencing in QFeed: the most common delay is that the network to quote.com is saturated. For some users, the path the quote.com will always be faster than the one to esignal, for other users the reverse will be true. EQ can also impose a delay if you have many active quotesheets or charts open.
