Hmm, if what concerns you is long range security and the freedom which comes from sustainable economic development, you and I are on the same side of this argument. If you just want a cessation of hostilities so negotiations can begin, so the preconditions for moving in the direction of the above, then "freedom" doesn't strike me as a precondition. Let's hope not, because, again I agree with you, the freedoms that are usually included in that term (political, economic, and social) are only dim lights there.
