Hi Eddie, - My two cents.
The computer industry is in a transition similar to the auto industry. It started with a lot of custom shops and one of a kind computers. We are going into a period of consolidation and will have only two or three major makers when it is over. Workstation and PC requirements are standarizing which gives a huge advantage to a mass producer. Dell , Gateway, and Micron are in big trouble as CPQ is going to cut the price of the standard PC. CPQ is in mass market whereas Dell, etc are in custom build.
