This type of comment has become so common that it actually appears to suggest comfort or empathy for those who care about the human struggle. It is anti-religious and is so dicomfiting to me as to create a personal irony. I find great comfort and understanding for my struggles in the human condition through a constant seeking within religion.

"For the human race to progress it must grow. Not stay stagnant.

I like the human race the way it is. I am happy when there are scientific break throughs that aid us in our understanding of the nature of material universe, its organization, and functioning. The implication that we need to change the human race via cloning is scary.
