Compaq implements SAP in CEG

Brazil, Apr 15, 2002 (Gazeta Mercantil/SABI via COMTEX) -- The Rio de Janeiro
state, was the main responsible for the highest growth on the income of Compaq
Computer Corporation of Latin America. According to the company, the positive
result followed the good performance in the country. Brazil registered a 100%
growth. Compaq has recently concluded the implementation of SAP in the gas
distribution company CEG (Companhia Distribuidora de Gas do Rio de Janeiro).
Compaq faced competition with IBM, Sun and HP. Markway worked in partnership
with Compaq. Markway has more than 300 clients in the state and ended 2001 with
an income of US$3mil, a growth of 35%.
