Israel was goaded so thoroughly by the suicide-bombing campaign that even Ha'aretz favored the military strike

It's that simple. I'd like for all the naysayers to devise a better way to dissuade or stop the homicidal bombers.

Perhaps the hierarchy of what should have been done, as the naysayers propose, would go something like this:

1.- Ask nicely.

2.- Ask not so nicely.

3.- Pout.

4.- Threaten softly.

5.- Threaten loudly.

6.- Ask for negotiations.

7.- Offer increased bribes I mean, aid, to the PA.

8.- Ask the US to intervene.

9.- Ask the Pope to intervene.

10.- Call for a Security Council meeting.

11.- Ask for a multilateral force to guard the border, perhaps a bunch of Finns and Paraguayans might do the trick.

12.- Promise to be nice.

15.- Make a statement renouncing violence.

16.- Announce unilateral withdrawal from all disputed areas.

17.- Promise to destroy all nukes.

18.- Let go of all terrorists in Israeli jails.

After 200 Israeli dead while these various steps were taken, I'm sure the homicidal bombings might have ended.

Don't you agree?
