Being a part of the Defense Establishment for 30 some years I would say I know more than most of the experts about what we need and the waste and fraud that is in the Defense Budget, thank you. As for energy we have no right to have 5 or 10 per cent of the people and suck up 80 per cent of the energy, that in a word is sinful!

As for military salaries Navy Captains and Army/Air Force Colonels make 100K a year and have housing allowances, PX privileges and free medical. And they get to retire at age circa 47 at 70K per year. You are stupid to think they are underpaid.
