Jack,

You're right, $wise, the limo is inconsequential. However it does send a message about the attitude of the management. So far the message (implicit) from the company has been that the stockholder interests come last. There have been a couple of years (perhaps someone can look it up) when Mr. Sanders made more money from AMD than AMD itself, what does that tell you? As Paul has pointed out, most if not all of the CEOs in Silicon Valley drive themselves (or get driven by their wives) and do not have anything like assigned parking. I'm sure Mr. Sanders' time is very valuable and a company like AMD can easily afford a chauffered limo to drive him back and forth from the airport, but so far stockholders have seen little of this value.

However, as they say past history is no indication of future performance and I can understand if people want to invest in AMD (as you pointed out, they do have a diverse product line, only they never seem to make any money whenever their x86 sales are non-existent). However for me, there are greener pastures in the semi world itself (companies with better record of looking after stockholders, well positioned and good management) - I mean I'm not interested if a company is the best company in the world and makes oodles of money but the stockholders get diddley squat. Anyways to each his (or her) own,

Best Wishes
MJ
