there is no comparison worth making between Egypt dealing harshly with internal radical extremists and Israelis desire to crush the will of the people in the occupied territories.

...except one obvious comparison: those very same Islamic radicals have hijacked Palestinian nationalism, turning it into a suicide-bombing death cult. Having a nationalist movement behind it does not turn a suicide-bombing death cult into a good thing that must be supported.
