I've regretted not getting very far in french, never put out the effort, spent time in Québec but almost entirely in english and spanish, i have family there, a couple of the kids are now fully fluently trilingual ... i can read french pretty much, lurk canadien threads here all the time, but the pronunciation, wooo, it's almost as crazy as in english, you have to familiarise yourself with each word
Don't know much of New England, but for at least thirty years there have been mexicanos in the tobacco country of North Carolina, i know someone who was born there and is now near thirty .... and quite fully capable in english -g- [kind of amusing, that whiff of fear from unilingual anglos, when their tongue rules the planet, clearly without threat to it in any way]
... oh look, two-niner palindrome |
