I believe the WTO and NAFTA both move us in the direction of the European Union and am therefore against both. I do not believe Bush needs fast-track approval either. Your first article explains why, the WTO could eliminate legislation that gives primacy to economic efficiency regardless of environmental or other impact. All they would have to do is find regulations "more burdensome than necessary" Of course "unlike congressional, regulatory and court proceedings WTO disputes and submitted evidence are closed to the public and records sealed." This does not even sound ethically or morally sound yet alone legally. "Fast-track minimizes consent by minimizing debate. Fast-track marginalizes, perhaps eliminates consent, by making U.S. law subject to international law, that is, subject to lawmakers from Communist, Socialist, fascist and Islamic fundamentalist nations that hate us." It is up to everyone who reads this to call their congressmen and senators to oppose HR 3005.
