MINNEAPOLIS, Apr 16, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Retek Inc. (Nasdaq:RETK), announced today its impressive benchmark results that demonstrate the virtual limitless scalability of Retek(R) solutions to handle the high volume of transactions of the world's largest retailers.

The benchmark tests of the Retek Merchandising System(TM) and Retek Sales Audit(TM) applications were performed on the IBM eServer, p680 with 24 central processing units (CPUs) and the IBM 2105 - F20 Enterprise Storage Server "Shark" Storage Array in Retek's "Performance Center of Excellence." Using data from a customer with more than 40,000 store locations, the benchmark test easily handled the daily sales processing for over ten million transactions, equating to thirty million point of sales (POS) line items. The average execution time to process each store's entire daily transactions was under one second.
