You would think that's the goal.
The reason there is so much disconnect between what is said and done is that this isn't the goal, at all.
The goal is control of oil wealth.
Once seen in that light, and terrorism as simply an emotional lever to be used to corral support and justify military force, it becomes clearer.
Bush Junior can support or not support initiatives against terror, as easily as he signed death warrants in Texas... he does exactly as he's told.
There is negotiation going on behind the scenes with Senior, Cheney and the boys, we're just seeing public statements that are purely for show. They make no difference, in any real sense.
The "coherent case for all civilized nations to actively oppose terrorism" makes all kinds of sense, both internationally and domestically. That's not what this administration is about, imo.
I wish it was, but I see nothing coherent, except steadily increasing central gov't power w. Bush crowd in the driver's seat.
I'd be happy to change views if this admin were to lessen its support of terrorism, reduce ME oil dependency, and make public the public's business. |
