If the Palestinians are willing to engage in the same kind of fight, facing utter eradication as a penalty for losing, then I could respect their right to a homeland as well.

That's certainly a Hawkish position. So the Palestinians should get say 10 acres for every suicide bomber they send?

I would say the Arabs have lost any moral claim they might have had against Israel because they have been willing to repeatedly launch wars to destroy it.

And I would say the Palestinians should have a homeland in the occupied territories. It's easy to see why the Israelis want the West Bank - on a map it looks like the heart of Israel. (And you can guess what part of the anatomy the Gaza Strip represents.)

But Israel fell from grace when she dreamed of taking the West Bank.
