I didn't do the math for particular lines. I just used the data in Intel's spreadsheet which can be found here: intel.com

(You probably already have the SS but others might not.)

There is a row for S/E and I simply summed the Goodwill charges from the income section. Looking back at my post you were replying to... I did square up the numbers (S/E vs Goodwill charges) without considering other changes in the balance sheet.

Intel did take $1.27B in charges from Goodwill amortization. These charges were in fact larger than the net drop in Goodwill as Intel must have bought some more stuff.
