Correct, when in fact INTC, as our choiristers in our midst have been singing, have demonstrated profits over the past year as a result of not writing of the impaired goodwill...Thankfully, AMD's statements are much more representative of current value as they don't have $4.83 billion, much of which is impaired, sitting on the Balance Sheet...Anyway, when one factors in goodwill and compares S/E over the past year, a much more realistic comparative financial performance between these 2 companies emerges...INTC's S/E declines by $7 billion while AMD's S/E has incresed by about $400 million in the past year (My earlier statement comparing S/E's was incorrect)...INTC's eps, assuming most of goodwill is impaired, over the past year is almost $1.00 overstated, in an apples to apples eps comparison with AMD...
