I'm very open to arguments that it was not. You provide one. Still I'm not so sure how much the supplies could not be just rerouted around Dresden and there where an awful lot of civilan deaths in the bombing.

it also worth noticing that the civilian bombing technique was introduced by Luftwaffe in 1940 in their raids on London and other English cities.

I know. It was a mistake for them in more ways then one. First the effort to bomb the English cities meant that the English air bases where not getting bombed much. Second they set a precident that would come back to haunt them at Dresden and elsewhere.
