Great question to generate a new topic.

"Yes, you are so right about that Steven. But I don't see how doing the right thing has anything to do with politics? And that's the social dilemma. Is politics inherently tainted?"

Politics is multi-faceted. I see two elements that seem constantly hung on the push-me pull-you quandary. One is that the nature of politics requires a gathering of forces to give strength to a particular view. The other is that the goal of politics is to generate a social structure that affords the participants optimal living conditions. This is a difficult balancing act and so unlikely to remain in a state of counterpoise, while ensuring decent living conditions for all concerned, that I feel bound to answer the question in the affirmative.
