| I don't know what public schools you have observed, but my son's schools, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, assigned A LOT of homework, even in the early grades of elementary school, but especially in middle school and high school, and graded them on it, as well as on quizzes and tests. Not only that, but in high school, they had to have finals each semester, besides their regular tests. They had plenty of assignments along the lines of class presentations and reports, and a were required to do a reasonable amount of research. You had to work hard to make the Honor Roll...... |
