This thread's been silent for more than a month. So I thought I'd stir it up a bit by throwing out some pre-earnings predictions.

According to Zach's, the earnings consensus (which is probably a consensus of one anaylist) for this quarter is 0.00. But over the past 3 years, CTEC has always had improved sales and earnings (well, at least smaller losses) between the March and June quarters. In 1994 sales improved quarter-to-quarter 27%, and the loss shrunk from (0.35) in March to (0.21) in June. In 1995 the sales increase was 5%, and the loss went from (0.11) to (0.08). And in 1996 sales went up 19%, and the loss shrunk from (0.09) to (0.05).

The average sales increase from March to June over the past 3 years was 17%. If that holds in 1997, sales should be 4.5M for the quarter, which seems conservative given the WalMart and Amerisource deals announced in April. I predict this quarter's earnings will be 0.05.

Remember that last quarter would have shown earnings of 0.02 instead of breakeven, if CTEC had not increased R&D by 150%. So unless CTEC has dramatically increased R&D again, I think we can expect at least 0.05.

Just a few thoughts. Any others out there?

John
