The Netherlands has a tax treaty with the US whereby US companies and individuals pay either US or Netherlands taxes, but not both. Netherlands citizens pay large taxes, much more than we do. Switzerland I'm not sure about but they're a neutral country and have always done very well being the banker of the world. Can't compare the US and Switzerland on any level. PS - I have a corporation in the Netherlands so I know.
