You were right about flash killing them: "Sales of AMD memory products, principally flash memory devices, continued to be weak, amounting to $160 million, compared to $411 million in the like period a year ago and $196 million in the fourth quarter of 2001."

My take on the report is favorable as it strongly indicates that flash is turning around. The forward projections, however, are always going to be cautionary and conservative to avoid any lawsuits down the road. If flash actually ramps up, AMD will make a profit this quarter.

Also, though it is minor now, 6% marketshare for the Athlon MP is nothing to laugh at if the sales growth rate is high and sustained through the course of the year.
