These IDF incursions will remove some of the terrorist resources short term, but they'll almost certainly solidify the resolve of the Palestinians (if it's even possible to solidify it further) to fight to the end, with any means, generation after generation if need be, to eliminate Jews from what they believe is their territory.

You essentially have two butt-headed stubborn and aggressive cultures in direct conflict over land.

People keep talking about "assymetric struggle", but this isn't exactly right. Israel does have a more modern western economy and society, with the resources that go with it, but the Palestinians have support of all the neighboring Arab states, which effectively makes up for this.

I just can't conceive of the Palestinians coming to their senses from what I see, Israel either.

Even if Arafat and Sharon simultaneously died in their sleep tonight, I think the problem would remain intact.
