Clearly, Bush-Cheney would prefer a right-wing dictatorship. When they "won" the election" they immediately started acting like dictators. Controlled both houses of congress and ran slipshod over all the rules, ignoring Democrats and even moderate Republicans. They were also engineering along with the likes of Enron the biggest power and money grab since the S+L debacle with their manipulated "energy crisis". They were drunk with power and they took full advantage - until Jeffords switched parties. After that Bush was sliping into big trouble until 9/11. Hey, he did great standing up to terrorism, but 90% of that war is over now. However he would like to keep it going until his next election and will try. He feels safe so long as he talks about fighting terrorism and education rhetoric he may or may not be backing up with action. Everything else is very questionable. Or downright wrong, depending on your point of view.
