I'm afraid I'm not a crypotographer, so I can't really elaborate on their ECC. That being said though, I can tell you this much. I follow almost all of the crypto and security newsgroups and websites, and I've only seen their name mentioned a few times in passing. I would think if it were all that great and revolutionary, it would be causing quite a stir.

From another angle, I just don't see how there's any room for another "for profit" crypto toolkit vendor. Certicom and RSA are both struggling immensely to sell their products, and I'm sure newcomer NTRU isn't finding it any easier.

I think the biggest danger for Certicom would be in the areas where Kasten-Chase might need ECC for existing or new applications, and they can use their own instead of licensing Certicom's. For example, they're using Certicom's ECC for their Blackberry application: kastenchase.com

If you really want an opinion on Karthika's technology, try posting a question to the sci.crypt newsgroup. Somebody will probably respond. You might not be able to make heads nor tails of it, but they'll respond. : )
