let me do a little clarifying of my position here. I agree entirely with the view that "Mr. Ross is among the most knowledgeable people in the world when it comes to the negotiations between PA and Israel." He is also an accomplished diplomat who is usually very very careful about what he says and when, and an experienced Washington player who may be on the sidelines for now but may well hope to get back into the game at some later point.

What that means is that he is worth listening to closely, but with full understanding of all the contexts involved.

Moreover, I don't know anyone, even those most knowledgeable and sensible and experienced, who have particularly good answers to the current situation, so I wouldn't trust anybody's advice blindly. It's not unlike questions about, say, where the market is going. There are people who are smarter, more objective, and more sensible than others, but even they are not right all the time.
