The regulars on this thread will never concede that there is any problem with gay behavior.

I suggest you insert the word, inherent, between "any" and "problem" and compare the two statements for a crisper sense of the difference between you and the "thread regulars" on matters of homosexuality.

The vast majority of North Americans who become infected with HIV are afflicted as a result of doing something imprudent, that is, imprudent behavior. The behavior is not "being gay" because that is not a behavior. Nor is the behavior simply sexual activity between consenting male adults. If your response to either of those points is "well of course it is," you further illustrate the difference between the parties.

I think that the gap between you and the "thread regulars" is not where you think it is.
