I ran across an interesting blurb in a Computerworld Singapore article, "Vendors to Promote Tape Drives in PCs." Although somewhat old (5/8/96), it states:

"Data storage vendors Imation Corp., Hewlett- Packard Co. (HP) and Iomega Corp. this year will make a concerted effort to increase the attach rate of tape drives to PCs in Asia and the Pacific region... In Singapore, Imation, HP and Iomega have already started joint marketing and educational programs to promote the use of tape drives in PCs..."

(Imation came from 3M and makes the LS120 disks)
