Lynn,
CPQ quarterly results are known. HWP quarter ends this month. It looks like the merger will happen the first week of May. HWP announced going to a calendar quarter after the merger.

We might see the merger followed with an HP warning. HP announces Earnings after the market closes on May 29.

The second quarter closes June 30, I think HP will restate the earnings to reflect a full quarter of business. That restated quarter would include the old CPQ's full second quarter and the old HP April from the first quarter plus May and June. I hope HWP had a great April because we could be looking at it twice.

The threads are different. HP investor experience has been different from Compaq investor experience. Going forward we will share the same experiences. Keeping the CPQ thread will not change that. It would also deprive us of long term HP shareholder information.

Here is some food for thought. We expect CPQ and HP employees to merge and work together. A great number will lose their jobs, while many will have to relocate their families to retain their jobs. That is a difficult order to fill. Moving to the HP thread is easy. Why would we resist doing something easy while expecting the employees to accomplish the difficult?
