J.P. Morgan structured finance head quits

NEW YORK, April 18 (Reuters) - Bill Demchak, global head of structured finance and credit portfolio at J.P. Morgan, has resigned, a spokeswoman told Reuters on Thursday.

It is not yet clear where Demchak is heading.

Areas that reported in to Demchak included asset-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, credit derivatives, collateralized debt obligations, and the loan portfolio.

Demchak came from the J.P. Morgan & Co. Inc. side of the business prior to its merger with Chase Manhattan Corp., which was completed at the end of 2000 . He has been with J.P. Morgan for 16 years.
