The reason the United States has never launched a comprehensive alternative-energy program is because of (1) America's love affair with gas-guzzling automobiles/trucks/SUVs;

So what? Your alternative-energy won't run in Trucks and SUVs? Never heard Nader mention that little glitch.

(2) How intertwined our economy is to gasoline and diesel fuel;

So you admit the goal is to completely tear apart the economy so you can re-configure it along lines more acceptable to the reds ....uh I mean greens. No thank you.
