WHAT budget cut???? The example budget cut I used was for USDA and was in the range of 9-10% I don't know exactly how that impacts meat inspection. I have an old truck .... I didn't mean to imply that my old truck should have retroactively had all the modern safety features. What I remember is all the fuss and name calling over Nader's book "Unsafe at any Speed". Nader called for regulatory oversite to safety and all the conservatives said it was unnecessary, too expesive, and an unwarrented intrusion into private rights. I had a 1970 Nova that was basicly no different than a 1950 model except for style. I am so glad that my current car has benefited from regulatory progress. TP
