"It seems most object to the possible effect on environment rather than funding"

That may be the case. But all of my posts on the subject have to do with the economics of the project, except for one post where I questioned the supposed problems with hydrocarbon contamination.

It will take years before it can come on line, and it will almost certainly require subsidies to do it. The whole infrastructure will need to be put in place, and it's very expensive to do that. I know some people who used to work at Brown and Root and the difficulties in building in Alaska cannot be underestimated. Not only are there the transportation costs, but there are the very different buidling requirements. If you think that ANWAR will come online without significant government funding, then you need to look at the situation. Sure, solar and fuel cells will take government funding to get off the ground in the near term, but the amount may even be less than ANWAR will cost and it will continue for the future. Something that ANWAR cannot promise.

"we are neighbors:-))"

Oh, where? I was born and raised on the Texas Gulf Coast. I have grown up surrounded by the oil industry. I have a degree in Marine Science and have had classes in Petroleum Geology, Petrology and Chemical Engineering. I have worked in the field of air quality monitoring at superfund sites and oil refineries. I have worked with, and am working with people who have worked in various facets of the oil industry, mainly exploration.
