You're right, of course.

I was just making the point that the notion that even if it were true that more gays are pedophiles, to those of us who as children were molested by heterosexual males it seems comical and suspect to decide that homosexuals should be excluded from the priesthood, along with women, who molest by far the fewest children.

I suspect it's just an expression of hostility to gays. I suspect that the vast majority of gays who are priests have never molested anyone and make very good priests, their priestly calling having the capacity to invest their suppression of their sexual drive (which they may themselves hate) with spiritual (to them), meaning.
