Hey! I thought I'd better wake up this thread before it starts to snore or some such thing.

I have been thinking about what it is that I want to make as a first couple of projects with the clay.

I'm really anxious to try making paper clay...mixing chopped paper with water and then adding clay and then spreading it on plaster to dry out into sheets that you can work with.

Anyhow, I would like to do some sculpture with it, but I'm really thinking of starting with something like a sheet of it, and then putting it on top of a chunk of metal screen to give it a backing while I work on it... a wavy shape to start with...slightly...then cutting out pieces of it and adding on pieces... to make a kind of 3-D mural that can hang on the outside walls of my studio once I fire the pieces. Would like to do some kind of raku glazes that are metallic looking... bronzes, steel blues, and so on... Well.. you'll see, if and when I ever manage to get these things done!! (o:
