What is tha actual potential of solar cells? Have you seen any estimates? Let's assume that roofs of buildings in areas with sufficient sunlight were covered by solar cells (so that more space is not taken up). Do you have a ballpark figure about the percentage of current energy consumption that could be satisfied this way?

And how are the fuel cells helping as far less energy dependance? They need fuel, which is most likely oil based anyway. They may be efficient, but does the efficiency surpass that of turbines in power plants?
