The folks at MKS are hoping that AMAT will offload all their subsystems to them <g> The responsibility for semiconductor processes has migrated from the chip producers to the equipment manufacturers, and now to the component makers. As OEMs become overburdened with the task of engineering complete turnkey subsystems for their tools, they are turning over more and more of that responsibility to their component suppliers. e-insite.net JF
