Interesting...... Lot's of interesting things going on in the world. For example, we can take a look at the locations of Israeli settlements in the West Bank... news.bbc.co.uk or in Gaza.... news.bbc.co.uk Some could make a reasonable conclusion that the Israelis weren't very bright from a security perspective in picking the locations in either case. In the case of the West Bank the settlements are pretty well distributed throughout the region; in Gaza, they've been built in regions at some distance from the border of Israel. Both situations are difficult to provide physical security for and both are problematic as "bargaining chips" for a withdrawl from the occupied territories. An individual [pro-Israel] on the FADG thread tells me that 95% of the Palestinian population is in territory under Palestinian civil and security control. That would be 95% of the Palestinian population of the occupied territories crammed into less than 20% of the available land. Gaza, one of the most densely populated tracts of land in the world, is home to 1,178,000 Palestinians, 33% of whom live in United Nations-funded refugee camps. Gaza is also home to 6,900 Jewish settlers. But then again, this is from the BBC and Israel yesterday declared the BBC to be anti-Semitic along with the UN. jttmab
