in the early 70's when i got out on my own thrust in the middle of the recession i didn't make much more than what you made in '48.. although unemployment rate where i was on the oregon coast peaked at 28% managed to deflate wages.

from observation it seems wage and housing inflation stayed pretty flat from your time to my time.
it seems everything took off around the mid 70's right after nixon drove the final nail in the gold standard coffin and the printing presses went to full steam eh?
