I don't either. I have no problems with land being designated as national parks and national forests. OTOH, if it is found that a piece of land so designated (or designated as a wildlife reserve) is found later to contain resources that are badly needed, I fail to see a problem with extracting them.

I also don't see that Brits and Canadians have the right to dictate US domestic policies. I consider that was settled at Yorktown in 1781.

if I steal off your land and can make a business of it due to improper accounting, I don't think it should be summarized as being "economic"
Stealing? Pardon moi? Generally those lumber companies BUY the right to log federal lands.
