So far there is no reason to believe that Arabs will be able to create State in Palestine that will peacefully coexist with its neighbors. And it will be too costly for Israel to proof it to the rest of the world by trying to create one. So occupation is the only future for Arabs in Palestine whether it will be brutal or not it is for them to choose. It should be obvious that response to the suicide bombings will be Military action will mass arrests distraction of property and infrastructure. "settlements" did not force Arabs out, settlements used to provide excellent opportunities for economic growth, than intifada stopped it. As to the claim that some of the land in Israel is Arab land : Arabs took it by force and the last episode is bloody pogroms in the East Jerusalem in 1947. And land taken by force can be taken back by force.
