You know how Hollywood always reports box-office receipts in current dollars (only) so that regardless of how their business is really doing they set all-time revenue records every weekend? L.A. is after all the city of illusion.

Well, I think stock volumes should be reported on the same basis. If SUNW stock has split 5 times since Dec 00, who cares, forget it. Those split multipliers are for bean counters. Only a paltry few million shares traded on that day way back then. Today was the first REAL big day :-).
