"The implication is that we are talking about private acts that have no potential to harm persons outside of the behind closed doors setting. In fact, what goes on behind closed doors between two consenting adults are not truly private acts. If any two participants were able to encapsulate their experiences in such a way as to never impact society in any way, I would be very impressed"

There is no such implication. All activities affect the future, always in unknown ways. This has been known for millennia and is not novel.

There is a recognized principle in civilized society that adults of sound mind are free to decide what is in their own best interests...where it does not affect the safety or the rights of others. In other words--where you put your mouth or your hands is none of my business, and vice versa.

"There may be material manifestations that extend beyond the closed door"

It has nothing to do with the presence or absence of doors. All choices lead to an infinity of unknown pathways. Along the way people make value judgements. For instance, I marry someone I love. My friends are happy and call it a good thing. Some girl, who had loved me, commits suicide because of my marriage. Her parents see my marriage as a bad thing. Everything is always good and bad for something. The individual choices of individual people are their own business. All advanced socities recognize this. I hope that you do, too...
