I don't know what I would do if I was going to Canada this summer, but I have been kicking myself for not opening up an account in Australia when I was there last summer. They were paying over 5% on deposits. <g>

I did look into buying some foreign currency, but the banks here in Minneapolis charge an arm and a leg to do that.

What is wrong with buying FCO, FAX, and TGG with a return on invested capital. The currency sitting in your safety deposit box will give you the change in currency value. The trade off of course is the difference in yield of these funds and what you think the change in currency value will be.
