The fact is that Rick Sherlund had already taken down his MSFT estimates for 2003. Everybody and brother expected msft to guide lower and the stock had lost ~15% from recent highs. So, this might have been baked in. Also, looks like the company was cautious with expectation of "low single digit" growth in the PC biz. That seems like 2-4% expectation. Considering such conservative guidance, it is not surprising that the stock didn't go down. ALso, they beat the earnings numbers. Don't forget that - this simple fact was lost in all the noise...
