HAHA.. Dai..
You're absolute correctomundo.. Actually, what started out as a semi-joke between Dave and I was taken into a more serious context.. I don't have any immediate plans to get in bed with "the public".. lol..
Rather, I enjoy being my own boss, and the money WILL follow.. I agree with both you and Utha..
Now that aside, I am going to raise some money for a couple of projects relating directly to the business I am in, but that's a whole different story.. As you know, the old saying "it takes money to make money" is true.. So, when you grow on a shoestring, organically, like I have been, it can slow your growth unless you're in a business with 50% margins.
My "industry" sees an average of 12-15% margins (not bad either), but if tweaked and worked on, can go as high as 30-40%.. My problem is.. (Not really a problem, rather fits into my plan of growing 50-100% a year).. I am in a space, and paying rent on that space, that is 40% unoccupied right now.. In other words, I have some ballooned fixed expenses that we will grow into over the next 6 months..
If all I wanted was a dozen employees and a machine that cranked out a certain income, I'd be set.. We're going to grow, and we will be in the top 25 of our industry by 2007. An industry with about 6000 competitors..
I know it's all a matter of perception, and one person may think x amount of dollars is a lot, while another laughs at that.. I am very happy doing what I am doing, and new ideas flow to me weekly..
