RE:"Probably, but the point I was making is that intel is most likely going on the assumption of 3400MHz. In addition, their attitude is WAY different then it was before Athlon was introduced. Now that they have a slight lead..... The thing to do, Is increase it.... Run up the score..... Go for the jugular..... Knock them down, AND step on them too...... But don't kill them, the DOJ is watching.....
Like I've said..... We're awake now......"

No way Hammer debuts at 3400 Mhz...if it did Intel would be in a world of hurt.

Where Intel got waylayed was when Andy Grove came up with the RAMBUS idea and the Timna. Timna could be stopped but P4 and Rambus required a heck of a work around.

Where AMD screwed up is they didn't keep the pressure on when Athlon had a clear lead. They butt slapped, funded chairs, paid bonuses and slipped roadmaps on a banana peel. Several gross miscalculations....
Jerry is a good PR man but doesn't seem to be able to push the engineers to higher levels.
