Darlene,

Housing in the rural areas here is very resonable. Especially the rural farming communities.

A story. My mother just moved into a lovely building with apartments for senior citizens. The building is in Mayville, North Dakota and all her friends from the last 90 years that are still alive live there with her. This building has nice apartments with a walk way down the center with sky lighting - it is just like walking outside. The apartments have window boxes with flowers lined on this walk way. The apartments have a large kitchen, dining room, bed room, living rooms, etc. Also garage for their cars and includes a cleaning person once a week and two great home cooked meals a day. Yes, these 90 year olds drive their cars. Heck, everyone in Mayville knows the cars these folks own and get out of their way when they are on the roads. <g> The cost includes cable, electricity, heat, i.e. all utilities except for telephone. Ready for this - the cost is $700 per month. Now this woman is not on welfare, it is just the going breakeven price. I asked her where I could sign up. <ggg>

Joan
